Invitation to the HKGBC “My Green Space” Student Competition 2022-2023
The Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) cordially invites all students in Hong Kong to participate in the “My Green Space” Student Competition 2022-2023.
The Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited (HKGBC) is a non-profit, member-led organisation established in 2009 with the vision to help save the planet and improve the wellbeing of the people of Hong Kong by transforming the city into a greener built environment. The Founding Members of HKGBC include the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Business Environment Council (BEC), the BEAM Society Limited (BSL) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC). Its mission is to lead market transformation by advocating green policies to the Government; introducing green building practices to all stakeholders; setting design, construction and management standards for the building profession; and promoting green living to the people of Hong Kong.
The HKGBC strives to enhance public understanding and awareness of green buildings and has established the “My Green Space” Student Competition (Previous Name: “My Green Space” Green Building Competition for Schools) since 2011. The Competition has received overwhelming responses from schools in the past years. HKGBC will launch the 9th Competition in 2022-2023 to educate the younger generation about green building knowledge, and nurture them to be green building pioneers.
The Competition theme for this year is “Striving towards Carbon Neutrality – Net Zero Built Environment”. Students are encouraged to inject innovative ideas to design building(s) and its neighbouring environment that generates net zero carbon emissions, paving ways for the city to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality. A wide range of entry formats are accepted. In addition, the HKGBC will arrange Green Building Tours cum Workshops for the participating students to enhance their understanding of green buildings.
Applicants will receive a confirmation email with an Entry Number upon successful registration. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Limited places are available, please register now. After registration, the entry must be submitted on or before 6:00pm, 31 March 2023.
