Recap of the Successful HKIA Annual Conference 2024!

On June 14, 2024, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) hosted its Annual Conference 2024. The conference delved into the theme, "Design in the Digital and AI Era - is this the end or just the beginning," exploring the evolving role of architects in the face of digital technology and artificial intelligence's influence on the architectural practice.

The conference aimed to address key themes encompassing the impact of AI on design, construction, urban environments, and related industries. It also delved into the practical application of AI and digital technology in present and future workflows.

Over twenty distinguished speakers, renowned in their respective fields, shared their experiences and expertise through engaging presentations and dialogues. The topics covered a wide range of subjects, including cross-platform design applications, robotics, smart cities, generative design through AI, and the challenges and implications these advancements have on the architectural profession.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Guest of Honour, Ms. Bernadette Linn, the Secretary for Development of HKSAR, for delivering the opening remarks. We would also like to express our appreciation to the speakers, panellists, moderators, and all those who attended the conference both physically and online. The Conference was attended by over 1,000 participants in person or online, from 20 different countries or regions. Additionally, we would like to thank our sponsors and supporting organizations for their invaluable support.
