Call for Performers: Expression of Interest for the HKIA 68th Anniversary Celebration!

Dear Members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects,

We are proud to commemorate our Institute's 68th anniversary this year. To make this milestone truly special, we are inviting all musically talented members and performers to showcase their skills at our anniversary events. Whether you are part of a music band, a solo singer, a dancer, or engaged in any other form of performing art, we would love to have you join us in this exciting celebration.

HKIA 68th Anniversary Celebration Event Details:

  • Main Performance Dates:
    • Event: HKIA Annual Dinner 2024
    • Date: 6 November 2024, Friday
    • Venues: To be announced
  • If possible, commissioned members will also be invited to perform at other associated events in late 2024 and early 2025.


What We Are Looking For:
Performers: Musicians, singers, dancers, and any other performing artists.
Acts: Music bands, solo performances, vocal groups, instrumentalists, and other performance arts.
Creative Talents: Songwriters (composing music & creating lyrics) and creators of original performances that align with the theme of the 68th anniversary celebration.
Commitment: Availability for rehearsals and performances leading up to and during the anniversary events.

Who are Eligible:
HKIA's Fellows, Full Members, Graduate Members, and Student Members

How to Express Your Interest:
Submit your Expression of Interest Proposal in no more than 5 pages of A4 sheets in PDF format. EOIs can be submitted by individuals or teams. Please provide the following information:

  • Your Full Name and team members' full names, as appropriate
  • Membership Number(s)
  • Contact Information (Email and Phone Number)
  • Type of Performance (e.g., music band, solo singing, dance, etc.)
  • Performance Experience and Proficiency
  • Any Previous Performance Experience
  • For Songwriters/Creative Performers: Brief description of your original work or ideas (including creating lyrics and composing music)
  • Members or teams with the technical capability are encouraged to produce a video of their performance for use on HKIA's social media channels
  • Budget for the Task: Include costs for renting studio, video production, etc.

Please ensure your proposal is clear and concise, showcasing your talent and enthusiasm for contributing to our 68th anniversary celebration.

Timeline:
Deadline for EOI Submission: 12:00pm, 12 July 2024 (Friday)
Interview with Interested members: 26 July 2024 (tentative)
Appointment of Performer(s): Early-August 2024
Main Performance Date: 6 November 2024 (Friday)


Please submit your proposal via email to Ms. Ashley Lee of the Board of Internal Affairs at bia@hkia.org.hk, with the email subject: "Expression of Interest: Performer for the HKIA 68th Anniversary Celebration" on or before the aforesaid deadline.
