Dear Members,
We cordially invite your participation in the HKIA Annual Awards 2011. While the HKIA has just celebrated her 55th Anniversary in 2011, the HKIA Annual Awards is 46-year-old since it was born in 1965 with an aim to recognize outstanding works of local architects. Nearly 180 architectures have been awarded in the past 46 years. This is an accomplishment that the Hong Kong architectural profession should be proud of.
The Annual Awards is a platform to introduce Hong Kong’s high quality architecture to the world. Same as previous years, the Annual Awards 2011 award-winning projects are going to be showcased in global arena and be nominated to numerous well-recognized international awards. Furthermore, those projects would be exposed to renowned journals and media, through which the achievement and endeavors of Hong Kong architects are magnified.
This year, we are very pleased to have Mr. Bjarne HAMMER, Founding Partner of the schmidt hammer lassen architects and Mr. Jurgen BEY, designer of Studio Makkink & Bey as our Overseas Juror and Lay Juror respectively. Both of them are prominent figures in the fields of architecture and design. Ms. AU Chung Leung Joanlin & Dr. CHAN Lai Kiu, accomplished members of HKIA, Ms. CHIU Hang Mei Mary Grace, recipient of the Young Architect Award 2008, will be our jurors too. I would like to thank for their kind acceptance to be jurors, which would take their huge efforts and time.
Let’s promote architecture excellence together. We sincerely look forward to receiving submission(s) from you in the HKIA Annual Awards 2011.
