The Seminar was successfully held on 9 Dec 2025 with over 500 members registered and over 350 joining in that evening which reflected strong interest among the architectural community in safeguarding professional practices.

We were honoured to have Ar. Chris CHE, Ar. Marvin CHEN, and Ar. Alex LAI to share their professional experience during this seminar which was moderated by Ar. Vivian CHEUNG. Ar. Chris CHE, Director of P&T Group, kicked off with the “Client-Architect Agreement Key Issues" emphasizing critical elements like client identification, signature requirements, scope definitions, and responsibility matrices to mitigate risks in fee proposals and contracts. Followed by Ar. Alex LAI who shared with our members on "Learning from Failures: Real Cases that Define Architect's Duties" which were very much appreciated from our members in their feedback. Last but not the least, Ar. Marvin CHEN concluded the sharing with the presentation on "What an Architect Should Know Upon Receipt of Notification for Disciplinary Inquiry on Professional Behaviour", which outlined disciplinary proceedings under the Architects Registration Ordinance (Cap. 408) and HKIA Rules, covering offences like professional misconduct, ARB/HKIA Codes of Conduct, inquiry processes, respondent rights, mitigation strategies, and appeal options.

The Seminar was received very positively, our members found it highly beneficial by gaining knowledges about the practical tools for navigating disputes, enhancing ethical compliance, and fortifying their practices against disciplinary pitfalls. In view of the positive response, similar events with multiple sessions in a series are definitely on their way in the coming future. Stay tuned!
