Northern Hong Kong is a vital ecological zone, contrasting sharply with Shenzhen’s bustling financial and tech hub across the bay. Facing land scarcity and conservation policies, Hong Kong adopts high-density development. This project introduces an "Eco-Groundscraper" at Chau Tau Station, creating a TOD-based 1-hour living circle to bridge Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Inspired by 20th-century high-rise regulations, it proposes a vertical stacked courtyard design blending Lingnan architectural wisdom—minimizing impact on migratory birds while optimizing natural light and ventilation. The structure harmonizes with surrounding mountains, merging ecology with innovation.
Adapted for subtropical climates, its façade integrates sun-shading slabs, canopies system, and voids with vertical greenery for passive cooling. Compact yet functional, it embodies Lingnan’s human-land harmony, offering a sustainable model for high-density cities.
