The Main Mosque at the Security Forces Medical Center in Riyadh was commissioned by the Ministry of Interior as a spiritual and architectural landmark within one of the world’s largest hospital campuses. Designed by P&T Group, it accommodates up to 1,500 worshippers, including separate prayer spaces for men and women, alongside supporting facilities such as ablution areas, an Imam’s office, a library, and educational spaces. The architectural concept draws inspiration from stacked Qurans, expressed through layered, rectilinear forms and carefully framed daylight openings. A modern Najdi-patterned screen blends tradition with contemporary design. Positioned at the heart of the campus, the mosque’s location and design enhance accessibility, visibility, and spiritual symbolism. Sustainability is integral to the project, with a double façade for thermal efficiency and the use of local materials. The result is a serene, dignified, and culturally rooted place of worship that enriches the hospital environment.
