Kuk Po is located between the urban and rural areas of Hong Kong and Shenzhen, with a large area of mangrove wetland and traditional Hakka settlement, facing the high-density cities of Sha Tau Kok and Yantian across the sea. Based on the framework of the "Kuk Po Vision," the team has launched initiatives to revitalize built structures and enhance the surrounding environment through a series of collaborative endeavors, including reusing Kai Choi School as exhibition venue, renovation of the Kuk Po Common, establishment of the School Plaza, construction of Eco Toilet, and community engagements with the Art Kuk Po Program. Through the conservation and reuse of the heritage buildings and the transformation of the public space of the village, the design enhances the quality of the landscape and environment of Kuk Po, and rebuilds the community consensus and vitality of the village.
