Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival (SKHAF) 2022-2024 is a three-year cultural and historical tourism project showcasing the natural beauty of Sai Kung and its four adjacent islands- Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau, and High Island. It transformed the rustic and neglected countryside into an open-air museum with 29 artworks, 266 programmes and over 1,100 guided tours, welcoming over 210,000 visitors while preserving the cultural heritage of island communities.
The inter-island art festival unfolded three interconnected chapters. "Joy Again, Isle" (2022) showcased artworks inspired by the lives of villagers on Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island. "Joy Again, Stories" (2023) expanded to Kau Sai Chau and High Island, introducing open calls for artwork proposals and illustrating the connections between people, stories, and objects. "Joy Again, Gather" (2024) fostered dialogues with the present, envisioned the future, and explored various forms of gathering through immersive experiences.
