Kedao College is a experimental project within ShanghaiTech University that integrates traditional elegance and future geek culture. Drawing on traditional garden techniques, it combines dormitory public areas with green spaces to create an inner courtyard for the academy, enhancing spatial continuity and interactivity. The design emphasizes the combination of form and substance, using a layout of solidity and void, density and sparsity, elevation and depression, light and shadow, following paradigms to integrate gate, hall, hill, pavilion, corridor, and garden. It aims to break down faculty boundaries, encourage social interaction, foster academic innovation, and reflect the educational concept of integrating living and learning.
