Humen High-speed Railway Station is the third largest HSR hub in terms of passenger volume in the Great bay area. It is also a comprehensive transportation hub consisting of an Existing HSR Station, two newly Expanded Waiting Hall, a Transfer Center, an Intercity Railway Station, a Metro Station, a Bus Terminal, and a Taxi Bay. At the same time, based on the TOD mode, the project continues to expand mixed-use developments including office towers, residential buildings and shopping mall around the hub, connected by urban Platform.
The existing Station was a county-level station built in 2013 with a maximum capacity of 500 people. Until 2019, passenger volume reached 60,000 per day, its capacity was far behind the needs. There launched this renovation project. It is also known as the first high-speed rail station renewal and expansion project in the country that does not stop railway operation during the construction.
