CPD Seminar: Modernising Environmental Impact Assessment through AI in Hong Kong
Date: 15 June 2026

All major developments in Hong Kong must complete a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to ensure the environment is protected. To streamline this critical process, the Environmental Protection Department has developed the Hong Kong Environmental Database (HKED)—an AI-assisted GIS-based big-data platform. Since its launch in 2022, this system has successfully helped the industry reduce the time required to complete EIA studies by half.

We cordially invite our members to join this CPD seminar. Dr. Samuel Chui, Director of the Environmental Protection Department of the HKSAR Government, will discuss the development of HKED and share insights on how AI technologies are practically applied to modernise the EIA process in Hong Kong.
