Synopsis
According to the Roadmap on Adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for Building Plan Preparation and Submission issued on December 2023, full adoption of BIM will be implemented from 2029 onwards with the associated enabling legislative amendments completed. With this target, Buildings Department has engaged a consultant team to conduct a study on the implementation scope, related BIM technology to be deployed, relevant legislations to be amended, and standards, guidelines to be made available. Dr. Calvin KAM and Mr. Dickson MAK, the team leaders for this consultancy study, will share their initial findings and will take this opportunity to collect views from HKIA members. Ar. Aaron CHAN, Chairperson of HKIA BIM and Smart City Committee, will share experience on using BIM on statutory submission and observations from a study trip to Singapore on the topic of their official BIM statutory submission portal, Corenet X.
