TWGHs E-Co Village is the transformation of a landfill site in Tseung Kwan O into a ground for camping and for the promotion of green living and environmental protection. This should the first Eco Village built on a landfill site in Asia. From Garbage to Garden, from Waste to Treasure, the project has turned the garbage hill into a place for public enjoyment and community connection, a new hill that can provide people a place to chill and heal.

Along with the theme “turning waste into something useful” (轉廢為能), the project is designed with an array of green features such as reusing residual building materials and recycling grey water for irrigation. The Green Stations are designed to maximize natural ventilation and minimize energy consumption, and constructed with environmentally friendly materials. It is carbon neutral with a full 100% solar energy supply. Over 200 trees have been planted in the landscape of E-Co Village to enhance urban biodiversity. E-Co Village has achieved the highest Platinum rating in both BEAM Plus New Buildings and BEAM Plus Neighbourhood.

5:15 pm Return to Tseung Kwan O MTR Station
