4 May - Insights from the UIA KL "Diverse-City" Conference

On May 4th, with the support of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the Institute organized a Public Sharing event themed "Inspiring the Future City: Insights from the UIA KL International Conference."

Sharing topics included: City Governance, Mindfulness City, Diversity/Equity/Inclusiveness, Vernacular Meets Modern, Green Architecture Movement, and Sustainable Architecture: Environment/Culture/Society. We thank our speakers: Joel Chan, Corrin Chan, Stephen Ho, Helen Leung, Yvonne Ieong, Anika Poon, Su Chang and Hydan Ng. The talks were followed by a panel discussion with representatives from HKIS, HKILA, and HKIA. Special thanks to Maxim Yao, Stephanie Liu, Wilson Tse, Anthony Cheng and Martin Tam for their insightful sharing.

The afternoon session featured a detailed guided tour of three city-responsive artworks in Tai Kok Tsui:

* Tai Kok Tsui Pavilion by Su Chang

* Nobody is Somebody inflatable artwork at Bedford Road by Soft Space

* Tidal Stories at Pok Man Street by Design PY
