CPD Seminar: From digital design to fabrication & construction: bridging academic research with industry practices

This CPD seminar examines the impact of academic research on advancing industry practices in architecture and construction. It will showcase innovative developments in academic research, including digital metaverse concepts, parametric design, and AI, which are opening new frontiers in architectural design. Attendees will gain insights into how these pioneering ideas are influencing creative processes and enabling more sustainable, flexible, and dynamic designs.

 

From the industry perspective, the focus will be on technologies such as AI, BIM, LLM (Large Language Models), and GIS that are transforming project management, visualization, and coordination. The event will highlight strategies for integrating cutting-edge research with practical applications, demonstrating how these tools streamline workflows, facilitate collaboration, and improve project outcomes. Through case studies, professionals will learn effective approaches to bridging academic innovations with real-world industry practices, fostering a smarter, more integrated future for architectural design and construction.
