HKIA would like to share with you the following piece of useful information which may enhance your business opportunities in the Belt and Road markets. 
 
The Belt and Road Office (BRO), supported by Development Bureau, together with Construction Industry Council (CIC) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), are piloting a mechanism (the Mechanism) to facilitate Hong Kong companies to access infrastructure, construction and real estate-related opportunities in Belt and Road markets.  
 
BRO would discuss with governments or state-owned entities in Belt and Road markets on government-backed projects that would be open to Hong Kong companies’ participation.  Project information would be collected, and CIC would disseminate such information to registered Hong Kong companies.  Companies interested in any project may indicate such interest to CIC, and a list of interested companies with profiles would be shared with the project owners, who may contact the companies for further discussion.  Project owners may come to Hong Kong, and registered companies would be invited to join the relevant roadshows organised by HKTDC to interact with the project owners.
