Invitation to the HKGBC “My Green Space” Student Competition 2024-2025

The Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) cordially invites all students in Hong Kong to participate in the “My Green Space” Student Competition 2024-2025.  

The Hong Kong Green Building Council Limited (HKGBC) is a non-profit, member-led organisation established in 2009 with the vision to help save the planet and improve the wellbeing of the people of Hong Kong by transforming the city into a greener built environment. The Founding Members of HKGBC include the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Business Environment Council (BEC), the BEAM Society Limited (BSL) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC). Its mission is to lead market transformation by advocating green policies to the Government; introducing green building practices to all stakeholders; setting design, construction and management standards for the building profession; and promoting green living to the people of Hong Kong. 

The HKGBC strives to enhance public understanding and awareness of green buildings and has established the “My Green Space” Student Competition since 2011. The Competition has received overwhelming responses from schools in the past years. Now in its 10th edition, the HKGBC will continue to educate the younger generation about green building knowledge, and nurture them to be green building pioneers.
 
The Competition theme for this edition is “My Ideal Green and Smart City”. Students are encouraged to unleash their creativity and imagination to showcase their ideal liveable, sustainable, carbon-neutral, ecology balanced and people-centric city through different perspectives such as design, planning, and adoption of green technology and innovation. A wide range of entry formats are accepted.  In addition, Green Building Tour cum Training Workshops will also be arranged for students to explore local green buildings and enhance their understanding in preparation for the Competition. Participating entrants will receive Bonus Points. Moreover, a Companion Scheme will also be rolled out to assist entrants on technical questions related to green building and smart cities.   

The registration deadline for the Competition is 6:00pm, 31 December 2024. Interested students are required to complete the online registration form  via: http://competition.hkgbc.org.hk/en/about_competition_registration.php 

Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email upon registration. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Limited places are available, please register now. After registration, entries must be submitted by 6:00pm, 31 March 2025.
