Dear HKIA Members,

HKIA is inviting individual members to express interest in providing the service of Professional Advisor for the coming possible competitions or join the Competition Advisory Unit Training Pathway to become a Professional Advisor when fulfill experience requirement.

Pursuant to the HKIA Rules for the Conduct of Architectural Competitions, Professional Advisor is responsible:

• To prepare the programme and conditions for the competition;
• To supervise the conduct of the competition;
• To ensure that the competition timetable is adhered to, and to supervise the receipt of thecompetitors’ questions and dispatch of the promoter's replies to all the competitors;
• To supervise the reception of competition entries and safeguard the anonymity of thecompetitors at all times; and
• To coordinate and monitor the work of the technical committee to assist the jury and be presentduring adjudication but will have no vote.

HKIA members meeting the following criteria are eligible for listing on the HKIA List of Professional Advisors for future commissioning by promotors of architectural competitions.
1. A Member or Fellow of HKIA with a minimum of 12 years of post-HKIA qualification experience;and

2. Familiar with the HKIA Rules for the Conduct of Architectural Competitions (the Rules); and

3. Able to uphold the principle of fairness and fulfill the duties of Professional Advisor stated in theRules.

4. Experience as Professional Advisor or organising Design Competitions or completeProfessional Advisor training organized by HKIA.
