The project involves design and construction of a 30-classroom primary school on Wing Shun Street, Tsuen Wan West. The site covers an area of approximately 5,800 m² with around 2,410m2 slope area. The site is challenged by limited area, a 7.5-meter level difference, constrained street frontage and proximity to residential developments, necessitating careful planning of spaces and integration with surroundings.
Fundamental design approach for this project focuses on “transforming limited space to infinite spatial experience”, aiming to create compact yet versatile spaces for extensive programs and to cultivate a rich and vibrant learning environment.
The design departs from typical layouts by incorporating a major raised platform and multiple smaller platforms, along with terrace courtyards and communal spaces which promote interaction and sociability. The integration of landscape elements across multiple levels gives the school a distinct identity and enhances surrounding environment.
