The project is located in the East Area of Kirin Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Jiangning District, Nanjing, with the new site of the Nanjing Branch Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on the south side, and the land reserved for the Kirin Science and Technology City's Smart Park on the west side. The entire college occupies an area of only 97,660 square metres, with a total building area of approximately 79,640 square metres, making it a ‘miniature urban campus’. The nature of the surrounding sites determines the importance of the planning and architectural design of the campus, which carries the tasks of ‘leading’ and ‘guiding’ the future planning and construction of the entire Kirin Science and Technology City, with the Nanjing Branch of the Academy of Sciences as the core.
