Obituary for Professor Colin Fournier (1944-2024)

Colin, educated at the Architectural Association in London, was Emeritus Professor of Architecture and Urbanism and Principal Research Fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and Visiting Professor at CUHK.
With a career spanning over several decades, Colin was renowned for his commitment to architectural excellence and his ability to connect theory with practice. His contributions to academia and the profession were immeasurable, particularly through his role at various universities where he shaped the minds of future architects. Notably, he served as a Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture, CUHK, from 2013 to 2016. Colin was also the Chief Curator of 2013 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture Hong Kong, and appointed by the West Kowloon Cultural Development Authority as President of the Jury for the M+ Museum Competition in 2013. During his time in Hong Kong, Colin made invaluable contributions to the city's architecture, education, and cultural scenes. His visionary approach and dedication to fostering innovation left a lasting impact, enriching both the academic community and the broader cultural landscape. Through his endeavors, Colin inspired a new generation of architects and helped shape Hong Kong's urban identity.

Professor Colin Fournier's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, at 3 PM at Bagneux Cemetery, Paris, France.
